Self Publishing is the act of publication of books by the author without the involvement of an established Publisher. Basically, the Author bears all the costs and risks: from writing to publishing to marketing. The best part though is that unlike traditional Publishing, the Author gets to keep almost all of the Royalty(earnings from book sales)
So how do you self publish your Ebook? Stay with me as I share this guide with you in eight simple steps:
ONE: write your book. You need to identify your Book Niche, Subniche, then draft your book title and subtitle.The table of contents comes right afterwards as this helps you section your book contents under its appropriate headings.
TWO: Revise your book by checking for spelling and grammar errors. Publishing a book with grammatical errors will hurt your brand: low sales, bad reviews etc.
THREE: Find a Beta Reader, someone who will read your book thoroughly before Publication. As the Author, you will often miss out on errors in your book.
FOUR: Find a professional editor or use Grammarly, this is to ensure sentence structure, Punctuation and errors in your Ebooks are properly fixed before Publication.
FIVE: Find a Formatter to format your Ebook for Kindle or Do it yourself(DIY)
SIX: Don’t judge a book by its cover, this is absolutely not true for Self-Publishing. Your book cover is the first thing a potential buyer will see, this can either attract them or repel them. So invest in a professional cover design.
SEVEN: Distribute your Ebook online, publish on platfroms such as Amazon(KDP), Kobo books, Barnes & Nobles, Okadabooks, Smashwords, Lulu etc
EIGHT: Start marketing your Ebooks.
