Days ago, I shared with you a few strategies on how to create a system that helps you WRITE everyday.
Let’s continue that discussion, shall we?
USE PERSONAL EXPERIENCES FOR STORYTELLING
This is actually the easiest way to write but a lot of people shy away from it due to a worry of over sharing or breaking another person’s confidence. The good news is, there is a hack around this; which is simply to introduce fiction into real life stories & experiences. So when you have a story to share in your writing, retain the main plot/theme of the story while the demographic & psychographic factors such as the gender, location, looks, social status, age etc of the Characters can be changed. When you do this, a real life story basically becomes fictional & the crux of the story is not lost.
GET AN ACCOUNTABUDDY
An ACCOUNTABUDDY is simply an individual that you are answerable to, doing this is a way to help you build discipline in your writing. You can also add a financial penalty that you would pay this person when you don’t meet up with your goal; hence, it is important that you choose someone that will accept NO EXCUSE from you for this role. Your bestie might not necessarily be in the best position for this.
HAVE A STRONG WHY
This right here is what will keep you going when you have ‘valid reasons’ to stop. So take out time & hone in on your why; it is personal & no one else can/should dictate this for you. Find it, focus on it & remind yourself of it when you are tempted to quit. With these strategies, I hope you will be able to create a system that helps you WRITE everyday.
